mantel-2016-1

Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season!  I’m at home in NC, the mantel is decorated and Christmas Eve prep has begun. This year, I went with a classic red, white and silver palette on the mantel. Mom approves and that’s all that counts.  Merry everything!

Can you believe Thanksgiving is two weeks away?  I need to start thinking about how I’m decorating the Thanksgiving table, stat!  This year I’m going with sage greens, silvers and whites.  I love how what comes around, goes around.  Sage green is seeing a resurgence in the interior design world.  Which means it’s trickling down to table tops.  How are you decorating this year?

mantel-14-2

The holidays have officially started in the Angotti household.  The mantel is (finally) decorated.  Pepperoni rolls are being proofed and fish is being cleaned.  Shortly, the annual fry-a-thon will commence on the deck.  This year, we’re doing it a day early since it’s supposed to pour tomorrow.  As I said in my holiday cards, Happy Whatever you’re celebrating!!

holiday mantel

It’s the first week of December and I have big decisions to make.  Like…how the hell am I decorating my parent’s mantel this year? I’ve looked around the web for this year’s inspiration and this was my favorite. I like the mix of metals and the pops of red.  What do you think?

It's a busy morning at the Angotti household as we get ready for a big Thanksgiving meal.  This was my final interpretation of the table from earlier this week.  We're using the new plates my parents purchased on their  Italian adventure in May (so beautiful!) plus the white pumpkins and mercury glass.  I'm really pleased with the final result and more importantly, my Mom likes it.  Hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Copy-cat

Photos always inspire me when I'm decorating for the holidays.  For Thanksgiving, I'm recreating the look of this elegant table.  If you want to be a copy cat too, you can pick up these pieces from West Elm and CB2.

1. silver edged plates 2. glass candle sticks 3. mercury glass vases 4. mercury glass votives
