it’s official..

Sleep-number-bed-cleaning
I'm old.  Yesterday, I bought a sleep number bed and I can't wait until it's delivered.

In my head, I'm still that 17 year old, charging down the soccer field, crushing people.  My body has it's own ideas and due to various aches and pains, I'm now wholeheartedly aware that I'm not that 17 year old after all.

It's not a fun realization.  It's humbling and a little humiliating.  I guess I better get used to it because it's only going to get worse.

I aspire to be like the ladies in my exercises class at Vida Gym.  Due to my aches and pains, I take a class 2 times a week called V-Fit.  It's a low impact weight class and it's really challenging.  It was initially started for the 60+ crowd but eventually all walks of life have started to show up.  There's people like me, pregnant ladies, people who are just starting to work out again and the amazing 60+ crowd. I hope when I'm 60+, I'm doing what these ladies are doing.  They look great, they work out hard and are amazingly spirited.  They never complain when our instructor invents new methods of torture (I mean exercise).   I love the class and I'm so glad Vida makes an effort to include our population.

Are you aware of aging?  How does it make you feel?  Resigned or elated?  So many part of getting older are amazing.  Although I'd like to have my younger body back, I'd never trade my current mind for my younger mind.  That old adage is correct:  a lot of things get better with age.
