build your boho sunroom

I love the idea of boho sunroom so much, I designed one.  It still needs a few things like a rug and something on the wall. I like this rug and this curtain/wall hanging.  While this kind of pouf has been done a million times, I still like it.  Or you could use floor pillows.  Now I need a sunroom.       indonesia daybed, blue fan pillow, celeste pillow, pinot pillow, sonja pillow, tabitha pillow, blue ikat pillow, brown leather pouf, schafer...

boho sunroom

The last week has been unbelievably crazy.  I'm tired and cranky. I long for a sun room where I can relax, sit in the sun and read three novels in one day.  Lately, the idea of a boho sun room has caught my fancy.  I'm infatuated with the idea of a daybed, layered with colorful pillows and natural textures.  Isn't it lovely? images clockwise via bohemian treehouse, couldn't find source, couldn't find source, bohemian...

wth? really bad listing photos

Sometimes, listing photos make you scratch your head and say "wth?"  A few of my favorites below: Basketball game in the middle of living room and no furniture? Really? Messy, an unmade bed and drugs on the night stand.  Eww. Blurry, bad lighting and multiple TV's....

riveting rooms

After every holiday weekend, I always wish I had an enormous dining table.  I love hosting dinner parties but my dining room only seats six.  My entire dining set was my grandparents and I'm not getting rid of it.  That doesn't keep me from looking.  I love this dining room especially those over sized pendants!...

my favorite brunch spots

DC is a town that loves to brunch. A lot folks go for the boozy brunch were you can drink bottomless mimosas and bloody mary’s.  My focus is on the food and I have a handful of favorites.  You’ll notice most are in my ‘hood or within walking distance.  When I don’t have to work, I like to leave the car at home and enjoy the city on foot.  Enjoy! Marvin’s brunch menu is concise but it has a number of yummy options. The chicken and waffle is one of my husband’s favorites.  I like the huevos rancheros (homemade tortillas..nom nom) or the egg sandwich on a waffle bun. Yea..it’s as good as it sounds. One thing I love about Pearl Dive’s brunch is their insane homemade donuts. They change daily and they’re always delicious. I’m also partial to the scrambled eggs and cayenne grits. My husband’s favorite is the eggs benedict with the country ham. Brunch at Le Diplomate is fun.  It’s crazy crowded but there’s no where better place to swill rosé and people watch.  My favorite is the Niçoise salad (only available at brunch) that features a confit tuna.  I could eat it everyday. Another delicious choice is the daily quiche. Brunch at the Diner isn’t fancy.  It’s loud and hectic. However, if you want a straight forward dish of scrambled eggs and toast, this is the place to go.  They also have some of the best pancakes in town which is why I always go back....

day dreamin’ | the vines

After a lot of deliberation, it's official.  We're going to Argentina!  I'm super excited.  I've wanted to visit Argentina for years and it's finally going to happen. We're not going until after Christmas.  While it's great for planning, I'm ready to go now!  Meanwhile, I'm day dreaming about what we're going to do and where we're going to stay.  One of my friends recently came across this fantastic place in Mendoza called The Vines.  Isn't it stunning?  It's not cheap but this is a day dream,...

kitchen cabinet hardware

One of the easiest ways to update a kitchen is to change the cabinet hardware. When I paint my kitchen cabinets, I'm also going to switch out the hardware. While brass is current rage, I'm sticking to silver tones because of my aluminum backsplash. The current cabinet pulls are silver knobs.  While functional and easy, they're boring. My thought is to either get a more interesting knob or change it up completely and use ring pulls.  Which one is your favorite? links clockwise: modern knob | streamlined knob | circle ring pull | square ring...

riveting rooms

It's that time of year again: the weather is finally nice and all I want to do is sit outside.  While I enjoy the roof deck on my building, I'd rather have a deck overlooking the water in Málaga, Spain.  I love the crisp white cushions and the mix of blue and white.  Happy Monday! photo via Nuevo...

latest and greatest

Life lately via my instagram feed.  DC is beautiful this time of year.  I love flowers (even though the pollen doesn't love me) and they're in full bloom.  So pretty.  I went to District Flea last weekend.  It was freezing but I enjoyed the vendors.  A couple of weekends ago, I took some clients out to see houses on a rainy day.  It's never fun but I loved this photo.  Beauty is everywhere..cheesy but true.  Hope you have a fantastic Friday and...
