Residents on the U St. Corridor have a wide array of dining options without leaving the area. In the "Little Ethiopia" neighborhood, on the eastern part of the U Street Corridor, you can find soul food, Italian dining, half-smoked sausages, and true Ethiopian fine dining. 
 
Ben's Chili Bowl is one of U Street's earliest establishments. Since 1958, locals and visitors have been queuing up for the legendary chili-covered dogs and half-smokes. The half-smoke, a DC original, is a favorite option at Ben's Chili Bowl. 
 
When you are looking for a hip alternative, head to Izakaya Seki where you will find Japanese small plates and noodle bowls, as well as a large beer list.
 
Visit Tokiya Japan has gorgeous Japanese pottery and kimonos. The pottery comes from Gifu and Aichi, Japan, where they use techniques dating back to the early 7th Century.
