Ever since my dinner at Poole's Diner last year, I've wanted to visit all of Ashely Christensen's restaurants in downtown Raleigh. Yesterday, I had lunch at Beasley's Chicken + Honey, her fried chicken joint and it delivered.
The star of the show is the fried chicken served with a drizzle of honey. My husband ordered the chicken and waffle and I had the seasonal kale salad. We also ordered a number of sides including homemade green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and pimento cheese mac and cheese. The chicken was moist and perfectly crispy. The side dishes were super flavorful. Overall, it was delicious and I'd go back in a heart beat.
