If you hadn't guessed, I'm a huge Emily Henderson fan. Her interior design is right up my alley: bright, colorful, mid-century modern and comfortable. I usually want everything she features in a home. This "House of the Year" renovation of a NJ beach house was no exception. What really caught my eye was the kitchen. She used Ikea base cabinets and then used Semihandmade Doors to customize the look. Say what?! I had no idea this was an option and I immediately bookmarked the website.
When you go to the website for Semihandmade Doors, the options are endless. The best part is the price. One of the most expensive aspects of a kitchen renovation is cabinets. Using the Ikea bases, you can add whatever sort of face that catches your fancy. If you want your cabinets to be a crazy color (like the photo above), you can buy the unfinished doors and spray paint them whatever color you want. Fun, right? This discovery has led to a lot of day dreaming about renovating my kitchen.
